G6 Linda Rae Rodgers (nee Painter)

Linda Rae Painter is a great great grandaughter of Timothy Sullivan through her great grandfather Richard Wearne Sullivan, grandmother Gertrude Ida Painter and father Rowland George Painter.

G6     TS/RWS/GIP/RGP/ LINDA RAE RODGERS (nee PAINTER) (1956 -     )

Linda Rae Painter was born in 1956 while her parents were living in Highgate, Adelaide. She is the oldest of three Adelaide-born children of Rowland Painter and wife Jean (nee Robinson). Her brother Julian John was born in 1957, followed by sister Celia Anne in 1958.

Linda attended Highgate Primary School and then Unley High School. On leaving school  she trained as a nurse at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

She moved to New Zealand and lived there a for a couple of years before returning to Adelaide, but within a few years she moved to Queensland. 

Linda worked in Brisbane and then Hughenden where she met veterinarian, Alister Rodgers. The couple married in Brisbane at the University of Queensland chapel in 1989. The Rodgers had two children, Courtney Anne Rodgers born in 1990 and Duncan Rodgers born in 1994.

Tragically husband Alister contracted Hendra Virus in the course of his work as a vet, and died in 2009.

Linda and her two children continue to live in Rockhampton where they were living at the time of Alister's death.
