G6 Celia Anne Painter
Celia Anne Painter is a great great grandaughter of Timothy Sullivan through her great grandfather Richard Wearne Sullivan, grandmother Gertrude Ida Painter and father Rowland George Painter. She is a keen family historian and has contributed significantly to this Timothy Sullivan Family History, as well as her researches into the Painter family.

G6 TS/RWS/GIP/RGP/ CELIA ANNE PAINTER (1958 - )
Celia Anne Painter was born in 1958 while her family was living in Highgate. She is the youngest of three Adelaide-born children of Rowland Painter and wife Jean (nee Robinson). Her sister Linda Rae was born in 1956, and her brother Julian John was born in 1957.
Celia followed her siblings through Highgate Primary and Unley High. After leaving school she undertook a cadetship in journalism at Messenger Newspapers and in 1978 moved Kiama, New South Wales to work on the Kiama Independent and LakeTimes newspapers.
She returned to Adelaide shortly after the Ash Wednesday bushfires in 1983 and worked as a journalist at The News.
In 1987 she moved to London for a year, working in the European Bureau of News Limited and later at MacMillan Book Publishers in London. She returned to Adelaide after her mother suffered a pulmonary embolism.
Celia then worked at the Sunday Mail for five years and left there in 1994, to work as a freelance journalist and publicist. In 1996 she joined the staff of Repatriation General Hospital to establish the Public Relations and fundraising unit. After working 13 years in this capacity, she was appointed Community Relations Manager of Southern Adelaide Health Service, managing complaints and leading the region’s engagement activities with the community. She left this position in December 2010.
Celia has been the partner of Bruce Howard since 1996.
