Margaret was the fourth child born to Francis James Salter and wife Clarice (nee Sullivan). She was born in Victoria in 1921
She grew up on the outback property at Undulla in the Maranoa district of Central Queenslaand. She did her schooling by correspondence
She became a triple certificated nurse and acted as Matron of the Roma Hospital during the war years.
In 194? Margaret married returned soldier Eric Oswald Horatio Perry (Ossie). Ossie was a barber, and later a shheep grazier.
The Perrys had five sons, Ian Perry in 19??, Robert (Bobby) Perry in 19??, Malcolm Perry in 19??, Lester Perry in 19?? and Geoffrey Perry in 19??
Margaret assisted with sheep grazing, and later became a nurse at the Dalby Hospital.
