G5 04 Jessie Vine Browne (nee Sullivan)

Jessie Vine Sullivan was a great grand-daughter of Timothy Sullivan through her grandfather John Sullivan and her father Arthur Herbert Sullivan

G5     TS/JS/AHS/ JESSIE VINE BROWNE (nee SULLIVAN) ( 1910 - 1998) 

Jessie Vine Sullivan was the second daughter of Arthur Herbert Sullivan and wife Mary (nee Alexander.) Jessie was born in Shepparton in July 1910

JesswithColinandMargaretShe was the first of the eight siblings to marry, wedding Leslie Ewing Browne in Condoblin in September 1935. Les was working as a farmer at this time. Four of their six children were borne in Condoblin, Margaret Browne  in 1936, Colin John Browne in March 1938, Ronald Leslie Browne in September 1940, and Ian Bert Browne in January 1945.

In 1943 Jessie's parents and some of her siblings moved to Matcham near Gosford on the NSW Cental Coast. Jessie and her family followed soon after and settled at the near by  town of Holgate. Children Noel Browne and Glenise Ruth Brown were born in Gosford in December 1949 and June 1950 respectively.

Les worked as a builder's labourer for Charles Metzke for the remainder of his working life.

After Les died in 1974Jesie moved into her sister Jean's house at Erina. She remained there until she became disabled with Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia. Jessie lived her remaining years at the Adelene Nursing Home at Wyoming NSW,and died in 1998.
